There are several types of roulette bets grouped into two categories: inside and outside bets. Each bet covers a different set of numbers and has a different distribution.

Inside Bets | ||
|---|---|---|
| Bet | Description | |
| 1. | Straight Up | A chip can be wagered on any individual number, including zero (0) and double zero (00). The chip is placed directly on the individual number. |
| 2. | Split Bet | A chip can be wagered on any two adjacent numbers, by placing the chip on the line dividing the two numbers. Note that a chip can also be placed on the line dividing zero (0) and double zero (00), 0 and 1, 2 and 0, 00 and 2, or 00 and 3. |
| 3. | Street Bet | This bet covers three numbers. The chip is placed on the outer boundary line of the roulette table, next to the corresponding row of three numbers. Note that street bets can also be placed on 0,1 and 2; 0, 00 and 2 as well as 00, 2 and 3. |
| 4. | Corner Bet | This bet covers four numbers. The chip is placed on the cross where the four numbers intersect. |
| 5. | Five bet | This bet covers the following numbers: 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3. The chip is placed on the outer boundary line of the roulette table, between 0 and 1. |
| 6. | Line Bet | This bet covers two street bets i.e. six different numbers in two rows of three numbers. The chip is placed on the closest boundary line of the roulette table, where the line dividing the two rows intersects it. |
Outside Bets | ||
| 7. | Column | On the short side of the roulette table there are three boxes marked 2 to 1. A bet placed in one of these boxes marks all twelve numbers above it (excluding 0 and 00). |
| 8. | Dozen | A bet placed in either one of the three boxes marked 1st 12, 2nd 12, or 3rd 12 marks twelve numbers. |
| 9. | Red/Black, Even/Odd, Low/High | A bet placed in one of the boxes on the long side of the table covers half of the roulette table numbers (excluding 0 and 00). Each box covers 18 numbers. |
