Slots Expert's Opinion

Our slot expert reviews the slot selection, software providers, and how easy it is to browse games. They also look at branded titles, jackpots, and features like tournaments and missions.

What I like:
  • Over 5,000 Slots: If choice is what you’re looking for when it comes to slots, then at Royal House, take your pick from over 5,000. These comprise the latest video slots such as Big Bass Bonanza and Age of the Gods. You can also play across various progressive jackpot networks such as Dream Drops, WowPot!, and Jackpot King.
  • Search by Provider or Title: If you have a slot in mind, the search box allows for quick discovery. Input either the actual slot name, for example Ted Megaways, or search by software providers like Red Tiger, NetEnt, or Yggdrasil. On each game tile, you’ll also see the logo of the game provider.
  • Multiple Opt-in Slot Bonuses: Besides the generous welcome offer, existing players can claim a wide range of promotions at Royal House Casino. There are day-specific free spins on selected slots, such as “Game of the Week”. In addition, players can take advantage of the Mega Wheel, rewards points, and free spins bonuses.
What I don't like:
  • Limited Info on Jackpots: The jackpot networks are premium, but the information about progressive jackpots is on the low side. The grand prize is only displayed rarely, and you’re required to be logged in to view further information about the jackpot, such as RTP, software provider, and volatility.
  • All Slots Together: Even though the simplicity scores marks, I’d like to see slots broken down into categories like at other online casinos such as Unibet or NetBet. Consider adding “New”, “Popular”, “Exclusives”, or “Jackpots” to make discovery much easier.
My recommendations:
  • Add Netflix-Style Discovery Page: The algorithm for discovering new slots should be far more dynamic. There are over 5,000 to play, but discovering them is difficult. To improve this, add a “Most Played in the UK” top 10 section, similar to Netflix. You could also add personalised suggestions such as “Because you played Slot A, you may enjoy these slots”.
  • Organise Slots by Feature: The simple layout works for many, but Royal House Casino should add more categories by feature. For instance, put all the Megaways slots in one section, or group together Big Bass Bonanza, Age of the Gods, or Mega Moolah titles. Games by theme would also be popular, such as fishing, sports, or TV and movie slots.

Live and Table Games Expert's Opinion

Our live and table games expert reviews the variety of table games, live dealer quality, and software providers. They also check table limits, usability, and availability, plus extras like bet behind, tournaments, and gamified features like badges and levels.

What I like:
  • Over 100 Live Casino Games: Royal House Casino boasts a robust selection of live casino games. Over 100 titles are available in the lobby, including popular options like Quantum Roulette with multipliers of up to 1000x, Red Door Roulette, Soiree Blackjack VIP Elite, and Royale Blackjack. The lobby also offers other options, such as Speed Baccarat, First Person Super Sic Bo, and Grand Baccarat.
  • Popular Live Game Shows: At Royal House Casino, players can also find a wide range of live game shows. Popular titles here include Buffalo Blitz Live, Adventures Beyond Wonderland, Mega Ball, and Mega Fire Blaze Lucky Ball, all of which offer engaging gameplay and attractive mechanics.
  • Reputable Live Casino Software Suppliers: The diverse array of live casino games here is made possible by the operator's partnership with some of the most reputable live casino software studios. The games are powered by Evolution and Playtech, which is why the lobby offers excellent HD streaming quality and professionally trained dealers.
What I don't like:
  • No Promotions for Live Casino Games: With such a varied live casino lobby featuring popular titles, it is a pity that Royal House Casino does not offer a dedicated bonus for live casino play, as Coral Casino does. This is a major drawback that prevents the operator from competing with other casino sites on the market.
  • Limited Number of RNG Options: What is missing from this operator's game selection is a good number of RNG table games. Unfortunately, the options here are very limited, and only a few roulette and blackjack variations can be found. This is not enough for fans of this format.
  • Non-Functional Game Search Menu: The game search menu is not very effective, and players cannot easily find the exact game types they want. Although I accessed the live casino lobby and tried typing roulette or blackjack, the menu showed no results. Instead, players need to scroll through the list and sort the options manually, which is time-consuming.
My recommendations:
  • Include Promotions Suitable for Live Casino Games: Adding a dedicated live casino bonus will help the operator attract more potential customers, as the live casino section is packed with interesting options.
  • Add More RNG Table Games: It would be beneficial for the operator to expand its RNG table game offerings, as many players seek attractive variations with low betting limits. This will make the operator more competitive and visible to a broader target audience.
  • Fix the Game Search Menu: Fixing the issue with the game search menu will save players time and effort when selecting the games they are looking for. In addition, incorporating filters for game type and category will make the search function even more convenient.

Social Media Expert's Opinion

Our social media expert checks which platforms the company uses, how often they post, and how well their content performs. They also look at follower count, brand tone, growth, and whether any channels are inactive or missing.

What I like:
  • Low-Risk, Minimal Approach: Royal House Casino seems to have small accounts on X and Facebook, though they are not referenced on the official website. This suggests that social media is not a strategic priority. This is a valid approach that avoids unnecessary compliance risk and keeps marketing resources focused on more effective channels.
What I don't like:
  • Missed Brand-Building Opportunity: The minimal posting and negligible follower count represent a missed opportunity to build brand awareness and community.
My recommendations:
  • Light, Compliant Content Strategy: If resources allow, Royal House Casino should consider a light content strategy with occasional posts once or twice a month. Content could focus on responsible gambling messaging, new and exclusive game releases, and brand updates, ensuring all posts remain fully compliant with UK advertising standards.

Legal Expert's Opinion

Our legal expert checks if the casino is licensed and since when. They review the terms to see if bonus abuse is clearly defined and flag vague or misleading clauses. The review also covers player protection, responsible gambling tools, ADR, GDPR compliance, and regulatory fines.

What I like:
  • Network-Level Limits Add Extra Protection: The Responsible Gaming Policy states that deposit, wager, and loss limits apply to all accounts across the ProgressPlay network. That is stronger than a single-brand limit model because it reduces the risk of a player bypassing restrictions by moving between related sites.
  • Clear Complaints Procedure: Section P of the T&Cs outlines the complaints process with contact information and defined timescales. Players who are unsatisfied with the outcome of their complaint can escalate the issue to eCOGRA, an ADR entity.
  • Transparent Dual Data Controller Disclosure: The Privacy Policy identifies both ProgressPlay and Broadway Gaming Ireland DF Limited as separate data controllers. Each has its own Privacy Policy, and links are provided for both. This level of disclosure helps players understand exactly who handles their data.
  • UKGC Licensing: The T&Cs state that ProgressPlay Ltd operates the site under UKGC regulation (Licence No. 39335, issued 1 November 2014).
What I don't like:
  • Lowest Level of Customer Fund Protection: Customer funds are segregated at the lowest level of protection recognised by the UKGC. In the event of insolvency, players would likely not be able to retrieve their balances.
  • £1 Million UKGC Fine: ProgressPlay was sanctioned in May 2025. The action included a warning, new licence conditions, and a £1,000,000 fine. The findings covered failures in anti-money laundering and customer interactions.
  • Internal Drafting Note Left in Published Terms: Section Q, clause 1, contains text stating that the jurisdiction clause must be changed to England and Wales. This appears to be an internal instruction that was never actioned before publication. It raises questions about the quality of legal review applied to these T&Cs.
My recommendations:
  • Improve the Customer Fund Protection Level: The "not protected" status exposes player funds unnecessarily in the event of insolvency. Other operators, such as Ladbrokes, achieve the highest "high protection" standard. Upgrading the protection tier should be a priority.
  • Conduct an Editorial Review of All Policies: The drafting note in Section Q is a clear oversight that should be corrected immediately. The Privacy Policy also dates from May 2018 and has not been updated since. A full review of all legal documents would address these gaps and strengthen credibility.

IT Expert's Opinion

Our IT expert evaluates the site’s technical performance, covering security, HTTPS implementation, and core web metrics. They also check mobile optimisation and the use of content delivery networks. Further review includes caching practices, hosting setup, and frontend diagnostics.

What Works Well:
  • Security & Privacy: The website correctly implements HTTPS, ensuring all communication is encrypted. Furthermore, it avoids the use of third-party cookies, which is excellent for user privacy and helps future-proof the site against increasing browser restrictions.
  • Mobile Optimisation: A viewport meta tag is properly configured, ensuring the site renders correctly and is optimised for mobile devices.
  • Visual Stability (CLS): The Cumulative Layout Shift score is a very low 0.026. This indicates a highly stable layout, meaning users do not experience unexpected or jarring content shifts while the page loads.
  • Initial Content Rendering (FCP): The First Contentful Paint occurs quickly at 0.7 seconds. Users begin to see content almost immediately, which provides good initial feedback that the page is loading.
  • Infrastructure: The site utilises Imperva, which provides CDN and security services. This helps with global asset delivery and protection against common web threats.
What Needs Improvement:
  • Core Web Vitals & Interactivity:
    • Total Blocking Time (TBT): At 3,150 ms, the TBT is extremely high. This is caused by long-running scripts blocking the main thread, making the page unresponsive to user input for a significant period.
    • Largest Contentful Paint (LCP): The LCP is 2.4 seconds, which is in the "needs improvement" range. The main content of the page takes too long to become visible to the user.
    • Time to Interactive (TTI): The page takes 4.7 seconds to become fully interactive, which creates a poor user experience. This high value is a direct result of the high Total Blocking Time.
  • Overall Load Performance:
    • Speed Index: A slow 3.7 seconds indicates that the visible content of the page populates slowly, making the page feel sluggish.
    • Server Response Time (TTFB): The initial server response for the root document is slow at 820 ms. This initial delay slows down every subsequent step of the page load process.
  • Application Health & Stability: The site logs critical browser errors. Specifically, two network requests to the external API https://prd-api.casino-pp.net/JackpotHelper/GetAllJackpots? are failing with a 502 (Bad Gateway) server error. This suggests a broken or unavailable backend service.
  • Technology Stack: The site is built with Next.js version 13.1.1. This is an outdated version and may lack performance enhancements, bug fixes, and security patches available in more recent releases.
Recommendations:
  • Prioritise Main-Thread Optimisation:
    • Reduce TBT and TTI: Profile JavaScript execution to identify the scripts responsible for the 3,150 ms of blocking time. Use code-splitting, a core feature in Next.js and Webpack, to load JavaScript on demand. Defer or asynchronously load non-critical third-party scripts and break down any long-running tasks into smaller chunks using techniques like requestIdleCallback.
    • Improve LCP: Identify the LCP element. If it is an image, ensure it is properly sized, compressed, and served in a modern format such as WebP or AVIF. Use a priority fetch attribute to load it sooner. If it is a text block, ensure its web font is preloaded.
  • Address Server-Side Bottlenecks:
    • Decrease TTFB: Investigate the cause of the 820 ms server response time. This could involve optimising server-side rendering logic in Next.js, improving database query performance, or implementing a more robust caching layer such as Redis. Consider using Next.js features like Incremental Static Regeneration (ISR) for pages that can be partially cached.
    • Optimise CDN Configuration: Review the Imperva CDN settings to ensure optimal caching rules are in place for static assets, especially those in _next/static, and potentially for server-rendered pages to reduce the load on the origin server.
  • Resolve Critical Application Errors:
    • Fix 502 Errors: Immediately investigate the failing API calls to prd-api.casino-pp.net. This is a critical backend issue that needs to be resolved with the service provider.
    • Add graceful error handling: Implement fallback handling in the React frontend so the user interface does not appear broken when this API is unavailable.
  • Update and Maintain the Technology Stack: Upgrade from Next.js 13.1.1 to a recent, stable version of Next.js. This will provide access to performance improvements, newer features such as App Router optimisations, and important security updates.

Lead Author's Summary and Final Rating

Momchil ChonovGambling Expert & Content Team Lead
Good Overall Expert Score 6/10

Royal House Casino has some obvious strengths at first glance. The live casino lobby is deep enough to keep regular table players busy, with more than 100 titles, strong provider support from Evolution and Playtech, and a decent spread of game shows. The slots side is even bigger, with over 5,000 games available and a search tool that lets you browse by title or provider. I also like the number of opt-in slot offers, which gives the site a bit more day-to-day value than some rivals in the same network.

The weaknesses, though, are serious enough to limit how far I can rate it. There is no dedicated live casino promotion despite live play being one of the main selling points, RNG table depth is poor, and the game search seems unreliable. The technical picture adds to that. The jackpot data service is returning errors on page load, so jackpot figures are not reliably visible to players who are not yet signed in. Page responsiveness is also well below standard — the site takes close to five seconds before it reacts to user input, and the server itself takes over 800 milliseconds to begin responding, which is slow enough to feel it on any average connection. More importantly, customer funds sit at the “not protected” level, ProgressPlay was hit with a £1 million UKGC penalty in 2025, and the published terms include what looks like an internal drafting note left in by mistake. In my view, those trust and quality-control issues matter far more than the size of the lobby.

Even so, there is still a workable base here. The complaints route is clearly set out, eCOGRA is available for escalation, and the responsible gambling model applies limits across the wider network rather than just a single brand. For players who mainly want lots of slots and a broad live selection, Royal House can still do the job. It just needs tighter legal housekeeping, stronger player safeguards, and a better organised game area before it can be taken more seriously alongside stronger UK names.

Conclusion

Royal House Casino offers plenty of variety, especially for players who want a large slot library and a busy live casino lobby. There is enough here to make it a usable option, and the overall game range is broader than many sites in the market. Even so, I would still place it below the stronger UK brands because the player protection and trust factors are not where they need to be. Improve those areas, tighten up the search and lobby structure, and this would be a much more convincing gambling platform.
