The Database Behind The Studies
We’ve maintained our casino database since 2011. Our researchers record information for each brand in each market, including its bonus terms, payment options, licence details and player protection tools. A change log keeps earlier field values, so we can trace how a record has changed.
| Bonus terms | Deposit offers, match percentages, wagering requirements, free spins and time limits. |
|---|---|
| Licensing | The licences recorded for each brand in each market and the relevant regulators. |
| Player protection | Deposit, loss, stake and session limits, reality checks, time-outs and self-exclusion periods. |
| Payment methods | Deposit and withdrawal options, with the limits and processing times operators publish. |
| Games and software | Game counts, software providers and published return-to-player (RTP) figures. |
| Operating status | Whether a casino brand is operating or has closed. |

How We Carry Out A Study
Each study explains which casinos and markets we included, when the data was recorded and how we calculated the results. Operators do not see our studies before publication.
Sources and checks
We start with our database, then check the relevant details again against the original sources, such as casino terms, payment pages and official licence registers. If a record is wrong or out of date, we correct it.
Missing information
If we can’t verify a detail, we mark it as missing. Each study explains how those gaps affect the figures, and missing values are kept separate from recorded zeroes. A gap in our data does not show that a casino lacks a feature or has chosen to withhold information.
Dates and corrections
Each edition uses a dated snapshot of the data. If we find an error after publication, we correct it and add a note explaining what changed and when. A later edition reports on a new snapshot.

- Read the bonus terms before you accept an offer, so wagering rules do not keep you playing longer than planned.
